Hello JLMS families,

I hope everyone had a great first quarter.  We certainly had a lot of fun activities to help kick off the new school year.  As we come to the end of Red Ribbon week I am very excited to announce some new community service projects happening through the month of November. In this email you will find information about a hurricane collection, a school dance and how to become a volunteer.  The school needs your support in making sure all events and service projects are successful.  We are always in need of volunteers.

November 1- 9thHURRICANE COLLECTION – There is still a great need in parts of our state from Hurricane Michael.  JLMS will be supporting families that suffered a tremendous loss during the storm.  There will be boxes in the front and back office for donations.  There will also be volunteers outside the car loop in the mornings and evenings.  Please considering helping by donating an item from the attached hurricane flyer.

November 16th: CAN-CAN DANCE –  The dance is on Nov 16th during 6th period.  Tickets to the dance cost $5 and will be on sale during lunch periods from Nov 12-16th.  This dance is in conjunction with the holiday food drive that the Sheriff’s office runs every year. We start collecting cans “non-perishable” food items the Monday after Thanksgiving. We collect food for approximately 2-weeks. The Sheriff’s office comes and picks up the food to bring to local food banks for families during the Christmas holiday.

MEDIA/WEB DESIGNER –  The JLMS PTSA is looking for a volunteer to help reconstruct its webpage.  If you are an expert in graphic and web-design and can volunteer a few hours, a few times a year we would love to hear from you.  We would greatly appreciate your time and talents.
