Courses Offered
- Basic Theatre
(6th Grade – Semester)
Intro to theatre fundamentals: etiquette, pantomime, improvisation, monologues, and scene work.
- Theatre 1
(7th & 8th Grade – Yearlong)
Performance-based course covering scene work, theatre history, and stagecraft. Students create and present an original one-act play as a final project.
After-School Opportunities
(Grades 6–8)
- News Crew: Produce the JLMS Morning News Show.
- Thespians – Troupe 89695: Compete in district and state theatre events; showcase performances at JLMS.
- Theatre Crew Club: Work backstage on sets, props, lighting, sound, and front-of-house duties.
- School Play: Audition for our annual production; rehearsals in 3rd quarter, performances before spring break.
